About Dawn
Dawn Angus believes that each of us deserves space, time, and support to access our inner wisdom. She welcomes each person as they are and centers authentic relationships and client empowerment in her work, meaning that therapy is tailored to your unique experiences, strengths, challenges, and goals.
Dawn works from a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach that integrates cognitive, somatic, and mindfulness-based methods to support holistic learning and change. She is trained in Somatic Experiencing (SE), a psychobiological method that uses body awareness and sensory integration to restore nervous system regulation following traumatic experiences.
Additionally, she is a certified facilitator of Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY), an empirically validated, clinical intervention for complex trauma and treatment-resistant PTSD. Dawn finds deep meaning in helping individuals grow their capacity to notice and be with thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations, thereby expanding their capacity for presence, connection, and joy. She also has training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), and trauma-informed mindfulness.
Dawn considers therapy a space for reflection, vulnerability, curiosity, courage, remembering, dreaming, discovery, practice, care – and so much more. She is honored to support others on their journey and is committed to creating a partnership that best serves each client’s values, goals, and hopes for our work together.
Before becoming a therapist, Dawn previously spent 12 years working in corporate settings and has extensive experience leading social impact initiatives and community engagement programs, as well as experience working in aerospace engineering and production environments. She is a certified professional coach and has delivered emotional intelligence and team-building training for local Fortune 50 companies and leadership development programs.
Given her own experiences in high-pressure environments, she is passionate about helping corporate and nonprofit leaders at every level address anxiety and burnout.
A lover of mountains and movement, Dawn enjoys hiking, skiing, mountaineering, paddle boarding, and exploring shapes on her yoga mat. She also enjoys spending time with family, teaching yoga, and playing the violin and handpan.
